First Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound all-candidates meeting set for Thursday night
Green party candidate Dick Hibma said the only way people will see change in government is by supporting non-traditional parties such as his. Tradition, he said, is just making things worse. “Locally, we just get further and further marginalized,” he said, adding the Greens are calling for “a change to climate in Parliament.”
That’s a twist on the Green Party’s usual message about the environment and it’s intended to “inject some reality” into the electoral scene as well as to inspire respect for MPs who are in Ottawa as representatives of their constituents, not to perpetuate “partisan politics,” he said.
